Ms. Dimitrina Koleva, President
Ms.
Koleva is a graduate of the National Lycee for Ancient Languages and Culture, Sofia, Bulgaria. Later, she obtained a MA in
English Language and Literature from the University of Sofia and a MBA from New Bulgarian University. She is a holder of a
Post-Baccalaureate Paralegal Certificate and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management. Dimitrina has gained extensive
knowledge of business management and international experience. While being a teacher of English in Bulgaria she also acquired
a pedagogical insight and understanding of children’s needs and aspirations. Dimitrina is committed to environmentally
friendly life style and practices. Her hobby is photography.
Dr. Tania Laakmann, Director
Dr. Laakmann is a member of the Association of the Bulgarian Artists. She holds
a MA in Textile and Fashion from the National Academy for Fine Arts in Sofia and a PhD
in Fashion Design. She has been a professor at the Varna Free University where she discovered
the pleasure of sharing her knowledge and experience with young people and motivating
their creativity and love for design. For 18 years Tania has been the lead instructor at the National Innovative
School in Sofia. In 2011, Dr. Laakmann approached Mithra
and offered her assistance with the artistic aspect of Mithra’s promotional materials
and fundraising activities. Her experience as an educator and artist is invaluable for Mithra’s endeavors.
Theodor Petrov, Treasurer
Dr.
Petrov has an impressive resume in the management of large governmental funds (NIH) as a Principal Investigator, interviewing,
hiring personnel and public speaking. His expertise as an internationally recognized neuroscientist and physician member of
Soc. Neuroscience, IBRO, the Editorial Board of J. Epithelial Biology and Pharmacol.) are invaluable in the assessment
of the needs of children targeted in our Program.
Apart from being a prolific scientist, Dr. Petrov has deep interest
and knowledge of modern European art and literature. He is in the process of writing his first book which addresses snobbery
with a lot of humor.
Dr. Christian Takoff, Managing Director, Sofia Branch
Dr. Takoff is a graduate of the University of Sofia Law Department. He holds a LLM from University of Hamburg,
Germany, and a doctorate in law from the University of Sofia. In addition to being a professor at the University of Sofia
Law Department, Dr. Takoff is a practicing attorney. He has been a legal expert and consultant to numerous national and international
institutions and organizations, and is currently the Chairman of the Arbitration Court of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce
and Industry. He is a co-founder of the Institute for European and German Law at the University of Sofia Law
Department.
